Intro

Subtext is built to be compatible with every media server and show control system currently on the market, as well as with many standard protocols for interoperability with other systems.

This document outlines the protocols by which node is able to receive timecode and other control messages. It also lists common show control systems, media servers and other platforms and provides the supported and suggested protocols for communication with the on-site node.

Media Servers

Media servers can be set up to send LTC if there is a free audio output in the presentation. More often then not, they are able to send discrete messages to a receiver, which could be combined with freerunning timecode generated on the gateway.
